Meet the Khiladi Akshay Kumar in his new rugged and rough and tough look for his reality show ‘Fear Factor- Khatron Ke Khiladi’. Keeping in toe with the script and his action hero personality, Akshay Kumar has styled his look to be absolutely unconventional and defiant.

Styled by a London based designer, his fashion line includes unusual hooded jackets, contemporary scarves, and trendy ankle length boots. Sporting a military crew cut, salt-pepper stubble and of course designer aviator glasses, the actor sure gives several beats a miss. Tall, athletic, leaner and extremely handsome Akshay has done all the death defying stunts in the show himself, given that he is trained in martial arts.

Talking about his new look, Akshay Kumar said,

“I wanted to show all my ‘COLORS’ through my new style, Akshay’s personal style… I don’t want to look like someone else to be cool. What you see is what I am; from laughs to tears, to dangerous stuff, ladies and cheetah…It’s just me, myself and all my scarves.”

Just in case you forgot, the show will have 13 Bollywood beauties who’ll compete with each other- Yana Gupta, Aditi Govitrikar, Pooja Bedi, Sonali Kulkarni, Anita Hasnandani, Meghna Naidu, Tapur Chatterjee, Tupur Chatterjee, Nethra Raghuraman, Anjana Sukhani, Dipannita Sharma, Vidya Malvade and Urvashi Sharma. The show will be shot entirely in South Africa, over a period of one month and is being produced by Endemol India.

Akshaye Khanna is baffled by rumours of alcoholism. He says he neither has a drinking problem nor did he check into a rehabilitation centre.”I don’t have a drinking problem and who says I went to a rehab? I’m the last person on this earth to make a spectacle of myself. Yes, I did take a vacation,” Akshaye said.
Asked where such news came from, he said: “It was one photograph taken outside a friend’s nightclub. It was blown a bit out of proportion. Isn’t it normal to unwind at a friend’s party? Suddenly I hear I have a drinking problem.”

The actor was seen in a funny role in his new release, “Mere Baap Pehle Aap”, which has opened to a mixed response.

Excerpts from an interview:

Q: Is it true that you had a drinking problem recently?

A: Certainly not!

Q: Where did that come from?

A: It was one photograph taken outside a friend’s nightclub. It was blown a bit out of proportion. Isn’t it normal to unwind at a friend’s party? Suddenly I hear I have a drinking problem.

Q: It was also rumoured that you went to a rehabilitation centre?

A: Says who? Oh god, no! I’m the last person on this earth to make a spectacle of myself. Yes, I did take a vacation.

Q: A friend was quoted as saying you had gone to clean yourself out?

A: I don’t have friends who would talk like this.

Q: Did this scandal bother you?

A: Come on, you can hardly call it a scandal. I can’t say I was unaffected because such a thing has never happened to me before. I can say with a certain amount of gratitude that so far the press has always been fair to me. I’m not bitter about it. But I find a clear perspective missing in such rumours.

But then we’re living in a world that’s constantly changing. Journalism in this country is also changing. I can see the humorous side of it. One lives and learns. Enough said on this topic.

Q: You’re an introvert.

A: I’m not.

Q: But you are a private person. How comfortable are you doing a loud comedy?

A: I haven’t done that much comedy. Out of the 30 or 35 films only four have been comedies. And of course, “Salaam-e-Ishq” where I thought my track was really funny.

Q: In the long run, would you like to be remembered for ‘Gandhi My Father’ or the comedies?

A: I’ve no burning ambitions to be remembered. Once I’m gone I’m gone. It doesn’t make a damned difference. It is not my ambition to leave a legacy behind. It doesn’t matter to me what people think about me when I’m not there.

Q: Do you think Priyadarshan has reached a saturation point as far as comedies are concerned?

A: That’s not fair to him or to me. I’ve done only three comedies with him. And Priyan has done a lot more than just comedy in Hindi. In the south, his oeuvre is phenomenal. And he’s just made ‘Kanjeevaram’, which I believe is awesome.

The kind of success he has had at the box office with comedies completely justifies what he does. We keep discussing many other films and scripts besides the ones we’ve done together. He’s got such great ideas.

It looks like hot babe Katrina Kaif has lost her cool on the unwanted rumours created by some part of the media and has decided to rebuff.Recently it was reported that Akshay Kumar, while seated at the IIFA awards with his wife Twinkle, ignored Katrina’s calls. It was also said that Twinkle and Katrina share cold vibes and looked through each other at Vipul Shah’s party thrown for his wife Shefali last month.

Katrina, listening to all, fumes, “People need to stop imagining so much. This is pure imagination on someone’s part. Akshay Kumar came in for the show in the night and left right after as he had a flight to catch.

I had dinner with Twinkle and some of her friends after that and even my mom was with me. So what’s with these stories?”

It’s thus proved that media was throwing imaginative bricks at the otherwise cool Kat. But it’s said that everything, said or drawn, has to have some base.

Even imagination must have some stage to stand on. What should we think then? And if, throwing an if, the whole picture is baselessly imaginative then what’s the need of becoming so hot?

Especially when people know Kat is really hot. Maybe the temperature is required to make some Akki dish! Who can say if something is cooking at the backdoor? Hun, you naughty hot Kat?

Their superb chemistry set the screens afire in the hits like ‘Humko Deewana Kar Gaye’ , ‘Namastey London’ and ‘Welcome’. They will also be seen next in ‘Singh Is Kinng’ which will hit the theatres in August. Their chemistry also set the shutters clicking at Delhi’s Ferozshah Kotla Stadium where though they appeared as supporters from rival teams, the duo bonded together like thick friends. Akshay was supporting Delhi Daredevils and Katrina was supporting Bangalore Royal Challengers.
