Aamir Khan Productions’ next release Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na is already generating a lot of curiosity with each passing day. While the promos are rocking big time, we bring you yet another interesting piece of information on the film.

While it’s a known fact that Aamir Khan has been actively involved with this project, even wifey Kiran Rao has played a big part in the making of the film. Every time there is a crisis, Aamir Khan and friends of Kiran Rao, remember only one person and that’s Kiran Rao. When Aamir Khan took over the reins of Taare Zameen Par as director, Kiran Rao was there at each and every moment, helping him out as an assistant.

Even during Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na, it was Kiran who came to Abbas Tyrewala’s rescue, when one of his assistant directors fell sick during shooting. Confirms a source from Aamir Khan Productions, "Kiran Rao is always there for everyone around whenever there is a crisis. She is an angel who steps in to help everyone around. She had stepped forward to help Aamir and his team, on Taare Zameen Par and now extended
her support even for Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na. It so happened that Abbas and gang were shooting in Mumbai when the first assistant director fell seriously sick in middle of shoot. So, Abbas in panic made calls to all his friends to check if someone could step in to help. First assistant director is integral to the shoot and without that person it is quite impossible to shoot. When Kiran Rao heard of this, she called up Abbas and said that she would join him immediately. She is truly an angel who steps in to help everyone around"

It may be recalled that Kiran had even flown to Jaipur to help Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra during the shooting of Dilli 6 when one of his A.D.’s had to rush home. Seems like Kiran indeed believes in the saying ’A friend in need is a friend indeed’.

Just about week ago we reported that Aamir Khan had injured himself on the set of Ghajini but being the hard worker aka “Mr.Perfectionist” he is, he was back shooting just a few days later.Unfortunately we have to report that as a result of not resting that injury, he has now hurt his other leg and even worse than his first injury. In a post on his blog titled, “Serves Me Right!!!”, Aamir explained what happened.

He wrote: “Just when I thought I was recovered I’ve injured myself again. And this time its worse than last time. Serves me right for taking it lightly and not resting myself enough. This time it’s my left leg and yes this time it is my hamstring. So we’ve had to call off the schedule, with the climax incomplete.I am so mad with myself!!!”

It was while shooting a stunt on the set today that he injured his left leg, “It happened about 4 hours ago in Sultan Bazar. The shot was me chasing the villain and taking a running dive to bring him down. As I took the leap my muscle buckled and the next thing I knew I was on the ground and in intense pain. No idea why it happened. But forced rest now.”

“Not interesting enough did I say last time? Well serves me right.”

He thinks that a pad that he landed on may be the cause for both injuries, “Because Pradeep and I were supposed to fall in the shot, the fight composer Peter had laid out a layer of thermacole to break our fall. However thermacole makes the ground beneath our feet very unstable. And I think the sudden give in the thermacole surprises the muscle and causes the injury. That’s what I think. Because in both cases, in the earlier injury and this one, we had thermacole on the ground. I’ve never had these kind of injuries before where the injury is not because of any impact but is as a result of the muscle not being able to take the stress. And never before have I been doing stunts on thermacole. This is the first time, and I’ve had two similar injuries within a span of two weeks.”

Sadly the injury is so bad the filming schedule has had to be delayed. “The doctor has ordered strict rest for 3 weeks atleast…”

His wife Kiran is on her way to be with him and that makes him very happy, “Only silver lining is I’ll get to see Kiran in another hour.When she heard she jumped on the flight and is on her way here,” Aamir wrote.

Bollywood star Aamir Khan has come up with an innovative, theatrical trailer teaser to promote his nephew Imran, who is being launched in “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na”.

The 2.5-minute trailer actually takes tongue-in-cheek dig at all star launches and all the hoopla over well-toned muscular bodies, including of Aamir who has toned his body for “Ghajini”.

” ’Jaane Tu…’ as a film has a very young idiom, the language and the tone of the film is very tongue-in-cheek. We wanted the teaser to reflect the same irreverence in attitude,” said Abbas Tyerwala, the film’s director in a press release.

The promos will show Imran as a huge well-toned muscular guy with all trimmings of a theatrical launch, only to reveal the real Imran who is a boy next door like his character in the film.

“Jaane Tu…” is Aamir’s third production after “Lagaan” and “Taare Zameen Par”.

Aamir Khan was badly hurt while performing a stunt for the remake of the Tamil thriller ‘Ghajini’ on Wednesday at Ramuji Rao Studios, Hyderabad.

He has been admitted to a city hospital and his wife Kiran has rached Hyderabad.

Shooting for the film has been postponed, which means that the release of the film would be delayed.

According to sources, Aamir Khan was shooting since 7 am in the morning. As he had to shoot intense action scenes, he wanted to finish the tougher sequences in the morning.

Around 11 am Aamir was shooting for a scene where he had to pick up a very bulky man and throw him against the wall. Unfortunately, Aamir pulled his hamstring muscle while he was enacting the action scene. Aamir just sat down and was unable to get up as he was in severe pain.

Immediately, a physiotherapist was called and he has been taking care of Aamir’s injury since yesterday.

A city court on Tuesday summoned Bollywood actor and producer Aamir Khan to depose as witness in a seven-year-old case of violation of copyright in connection with his blockbuster movie Lagaan.

Metropolitan Magistrate Jagdish Kumar issued summons to Aamir Khan for February 10, 2009. The court had last year issued summons to the actor asking him to appear on Tuesday, but he failed to do so.

The case pertains to the seizure of seven VCDs of the 2001 release Lagaan and 34 of Gadar by the Delhi Police during a raid on the shop of accused Risabh Chawla in Lajpat Rai market on June 22, 2001.

Anil Malhotra, the complainant in the case, told the court that he had the copyright of these two films. Aamir was made a witness as Lagaan was produced under his banner M/s Aamir Khan Productions Private Limited in Mumbai.

That Aamir getting (read ‘championing’) social causes and eventually getting embroiled into controversies is nothing new. However, this time, it has stretched a bit too far. It was just recently, that it was announced that Aamir ‘The Perfectionist’ Khan would be one of the Olympic torchbearers, something that the Tibetan community in India has raised objection to.

They have told Aamir to simply distance himself from the Olympic torch relay that is to be held in China in 2008, so much so that a young protestor went to the extent of threatening self-immolation, if Aamir did not yield to the protests.

The reason cited for this protest is to express solidarity with the Tibetan struggle for freedom from China. Wonder what Aamir will have to say about it!

The normally reticent Aamir Khan invited the media outside his house on the occasion of his 43rd birthday on Friday. Here are some pics of Aamir in celebration mode.

Aamir normally likes to celebrate his birthday with his family at home but this time he chose something different.

The actor playfully asked the media… ‘aap log aise hi aa gaye… mere gifts kidhar hain?’. He also shared b’day memories of his childhood when he used to go to school without uniform and distribute chocolates. ‘The school teacher never used to scold the b’day boy so that was the best part for me’.

The first gift Aamir received was a boquet from Priyanka Chopra. “On Thursday night Kiran gifted me a card which I loved. She is a very good artist. My mother will cook seek kabab for me.”

Aamir will gift himself a bald look which will be for his forthcoming Ghajini remake. “I want to clarify that it was not Kiran’s idea to shave off my head on my b’day but my director Murugadoss. It will be a shaved buzz look.”

The actor not only cut his birthday cake but also interacted a lot with the media and posed for photographs with them as well.

We have learnt that Aamir is going to shave off his hair at home itself because he wants to keep his new look for the film a secret for a while.
